Notes

California yerba santa (Eriodictyon californicum) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil of most types. Purple flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The evergreen leaves stay dark green and the plant is drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Fragrant sumac, Perennial Lupine, and Autumn moor grass.
