Notes

'Perennial Lupine' (Lupinus polyphyllus 'Perennial Lupine') is a perennial for cut flowers and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its spires of deep blue to purple flowers bloom in spring and summer, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit them. Bumblebees pollinate it, and many butterfly species use it as a larval host. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Nepeta, Gardenia peony, and Weigela.
