Canadian honewort (Cryptotaenia canadensis) is a perennial that grows up to 36 inches tall. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and moist soil. Tiny white flowers open in small, uneven clusters from early summer into early autumn. The flowers are not showy, but the plant has distinctive fruit. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
