Notes

Canyon live oak (Quercus chrysolepis) is a tree for containers and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is an evergreen oak with oval leaves that are felty-white beneath. Squirrels and other small harvesters eat the seeds. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Madrone, Common manzanita, and Douglas fir.
