Notes
Coco plum (Chrysobalanus icaco) is a shrub for hedges and low maintenance gardens, and it can also work as a ground cover. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or clay soil. Its dark green leaves are round and shiny, and the evergreen foliage covers the plant densely. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it.
Pairs well with Island marlberry, Beautyberry, and Deergrass.
