Notes

Coyote mint (Monardella purpurea) is a subshrub for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Purple flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. The fragrant blooms attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Elfin mother of thyme, Star of persia, and Shenandoah switchgrass.
