Notes
'Shenandoah' switchgrass (Panicum virgatum 'Shenandoah') is a grass for borders, rain gardens, winter interest, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. The foliage turns reddish in fall, and reddish-pink blooms bring butterflies and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Wild bergamot, Great blue lobelia, and Red twig dogwood.
