Notes
Crinkled hair grass (Avenella flexuosa) is a grass for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays evergreen and handles drought well. The purple to bronze blooms appear in spring, summer, and early autumn, and birds visit the plant.
Pairs well with Blue flag, Inkberry, and Greig's tulip.
