Notes

Eastern marsh fern (Thelypteris palustris) is a fern for rain gardens, meadows, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide at a moderate pace, and birds visit it. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. In the wild it grows in swamps, bogs, and wooded streambanks.

Pairs well with Cardinal flower, Hardy hibiscus, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
