Notes

'Eastern Prince' magnolia vine (Schisandra chinensis 'Eastern Prince') is a vine for fences, trellises, arbors, and fruit harvests. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun. Small, lightly fragrant white flowers with a pink flush at the center open in spring. They turn into bright crimson berries with a tart flavor, grown for juice and preserves. This selection is self-fertile, so one vine can set fruit on its own.

Pairs well with Hardy kiwi, Sorbet peony, and Canada wild rye.
