Notes

Egyptian star flower (Pentas lanceolata) is an annual for borders, pollinator gardens, and annual beds. It is typically grown as an annual. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink flowers draw butterflies and bees, and the dense plants tolerate drought. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Lantana, Vinca, Mexican bush sage, and Polka dot plant.

Native range

Arabian penninsula and eastern Africa.
