Notes

Elegant cluster-lily (Brodiaea elegans) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry, clay soil. Small violet-pink flowers form an umbel on a leafless stalk. The stems flop when grown alone, so plant it among other plants for support. The narrow leaves turn brown as the flower buds swell.

Pairs well with California poppy, Narrowleaf milkweed, and Purple owl's clover.
