Notes
Fairy slipper (Calypso bulbosa) is a perennial for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy soil. A single pink flower with a slipper-like lip hangs from a reddish stalk above one basal leaf. It rises from a small tuber and prefers secluded spots.
Pairs well with Queen cup, False Solomon's seal, Red baneberry, and Lady fern.
