Notes

False Solomon's seal (Maianthemum stellatum) is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Star-like white flowers open in clusters at the tips of arching stems. It spreads by creeping rhizomes, so give it room. Bees visit the blooms, and birds eat the dark fruits that follow.

Pairs well with Royal fern, Aromatic aster, and Thimbleberry.
