Notes

Fernbush (Chamaebatiaria millefolium) is a shrub for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Small white flowers cover the shrub and have a sweet scent that attracts butterflies and bees. The gray-green leaves look like ferns, and older leaves drop in winter to show russet bark.

Pairs well with Lead plant, Limber pine, and Ornamental onion.
