Notes

Fetter bush (Lyonia lucida) is a shrub for borders, hedges, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Glossy, leathery evergreen leaves go with urn-shaped, pinkish-white flowers that bees visit. Plant it in moist soil with good drainage, because stress makes it prone to leaf spot.

Pairs well with Sweet pepperbush, Virginia sweetspire, Honeycup, and White cypress.
