Notes

'Flavor King' cherry (Prunus salicina 'Flavor King') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Bees and butterflies visit its blooms from early to late spring. Zaiger Genetics developed it, and the fruit is grown for fresh eating. Plant a second variety nearby, since it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Columbine, Ornamental onion, and Foxglove.
