Notes

'Vanier' cherry (Prunus salicina 'Vanier') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It blooms in early to late spring and draws butterflies and bees. The plum-like fruit ripens late and is grown for fresh eating and cooking. You will need a second tree nearby, since it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Galaxy magnolia, Japanese maple, Blueberry, and Ornamental onion.
