Notes

'Genovese' basil (Ocimum basilicum 'Genovese') is an herb for food gardens, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is typically grown as an annual. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its fragrant green leaves are grown for fresh eating, and bees and butterflies visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Mountain Magic tomato, Black Magic kale, and Dill.
