Notes

Golden club (Orontium aquaticum) is a perennial for rain gardens, naturalized areas, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and moist to wet, loamy or clay soil. Its dark green, velvety leaves are long-stalked and often float. The golden yellow, club-like spadix rises above the water on a green scape. Green fruits follow the flower.

Pairs well with Joe-pyeweed, River birch, and Northwind switchgrass.
