Notes

Joe-pyeweed (Eutrochium fistulosum) is a perennial for borders, meadows, rain gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Its huge, domed heads of dusky rose flowers are fragrant and draw butterflies and bees. Deer tend to pass it by. Give the tall stems room to reach up to 7 feet.

Pairs well with Wild bergamot, Big bluestem, and Prairie Sun rudbeckia.
