Notes
Great waterleaf (Hydrophyllum appendiculatum) is a perennial for woodland gardens, shade borders, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and moist soil. It grows up to 24 inches tall and blooms in late spring and early to mid summer. The flowers are white to purple, and they are showier than those of Virginia waterleaf. Its leaves are lobed but not deeply cut.
Pairs well with White wood aster, Marginal wood fern, and White baneberry.
