Notes

Hardy blue-flowered leadwort (Ceratostigma plumbaginoides) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deep blue flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Oakleaf hydrangea.
