Notes
'Munstead' lavender (Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It is grown for its fragrant purple flowers and edible leaves and buds, and it is the most popular culinary lavender. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Knock Out rose, Garlic chives, and Japanese forest grass.
