Notes
'Heart and Soul' florist's spiraea (Astilbe 'Heart and Soul') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its light purple to lavender pink blooms attract butterflies. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and spreads at least 18 inches.
Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Cinnamon fern, and Solomon's seal.
