Notes

'Henry Eilers' sweet coneflower (Rudbeckia subtomentosa 'Henry Eilers') is a perennial for borders, meadows, rain gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 36 to 60 inches tall with yellow petals around a brown center disk. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Big bluestem, False indigo, and Spotted beebalm.
