Notes

Jumping cholla (Cylindropuntia fulgida) is a succulent for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The jointed segments detach at a touch and cling to clothing and skin, so plant it away from paths. Detached branches will root and start new plants.

Pairs well with Saguaro cactus, Ocotillo, and Desert mallow.
