Notes

Licorice bedstraw (Galium circaezans) is a perennial for woodland and naturalized gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and dry to average soil. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, with whorls of 4 leaves on each stem. Tiny light green flowers open in late spring and again from early to late summer. It tolerates drought once settled in.

Pairs well with Wood lily, Lime Zinger sedum, and Swamp azalea.
