Notes

Wood lily (Trillium luteum) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. The lemon yellow flowers smell of citrus and sit right on top of the mottled leaves. Bees visit the blooms in spring. It may go dormant by summer, so plant it where other plants can fill the gap.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Bellwort, and Royal fern.
