Luffa (Luffa aegyptiaca) is a vegetable for the food garden. It is typically grown as an annual. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant is native to the Indian Subcontinent. It reaches 36 to 48 inches tall, so give it plenty of room in the garden. Plan a spot for it before the weather turns cold, since frost will end its season.

Pairs well with Green bean, Borage, and Potato.
