Notes

Masterwort (Angelica atropurpurea) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. White to greenish-white flowers open in early to late summer and attract butterflies. It can reach 10 feet tall, so give it room at the back of a bed. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Tickseed, Tall fescue, and Honeyberry.
