Notes

Mountain monardella (Monardella odoratissima) is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its gray, fragrant leaves form mats about 1 foot high, and its flower heads attract butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Bloom comes in late spring and again in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Pussytoes, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Butterfly flower.
