Notes

Pussytoes (Antennaria plantaginifolia) is a perennial for ground cover, borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fuzzy white flower heads look like cat toes and open in spring, and bees and butterflies visit them. It spreads by runners, so give it room to form a silvery mat. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Bellwort, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Fragrant sumac.
