Notes
Narrow-leaved cattail (Typha angustifolia) is a perennial for containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet soil of most types. It grows 36 to 84 inches tall and spreads 36 to 60 inches, so give it room. The brown sausage-shaped flower spike has a gap between the male and female flower clusters, and the plant attracts birds.
Pairs well with Yellow marsh marigold, Rush, and American maidenhair fern.
Native range
North America, Europe, northern and central Asia, and northern Africa.
