Notes

Yellow marsh marigold (Caltha palustris) is a perennial for rain gardens, meadows, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and moist to wet soil of most types. Large, buttercup-like yellow flowers open in spring above glossy, heart-shaped leaves, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give it protection from drying winter and early spring winds.

Pairs well with Crested wood fern, Blue bead lily, and Paper birch.
