Notes
Perfoliate bellwort (Uvularia perfoliata) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The flower stems seem to pierce the leaves, which gives the plant its name. Yellow flowers appear in spring and bees visit them.
Pairs well with Goldenseal, Cinnamon fern, and Paris coral bells.
