Notes

'Persian' basil (Ocimum basilicum 'Persian') is an herb for containers, food gardens, and borders. It is typically grown as an annual. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The leaves are fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Oregano, African marigold, and Nasturtium.
