Notes

'Picta' reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea 'Picta') is a grass for borders, ground cover, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and stands erect, and it tolerates drought. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give it room to spread, since it can reach about 59 inches wide.

Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Astilbe, Hardy geranium, and Phasion canna.
