Notes
Poppy mallow (Callirhoe involucrata) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Its sprawling stems hug the ground and look good spilling over a wall. Bees visit the magenta flowers, which have white centers.
Pairs well with Blue sage, Prairie dropseed, and Blue grama.
