Notes
Red ruellia (Ruellia elegans) is an annual for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It forms a clumping mound of green leaves that reaches 24 to 36 inches tall and wide. Red flowers appear in spring, summer, and autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer.
