Notes

Seedbox (Ludwigia alternifolia) is a perennial for meadows and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and moist to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The distinctive box-like fruit is square on top and filled with many seeds, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the plant. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Cup plant, Palm sedge, and Reed grass.
