Notes

Selfheal (Prunella vulgaris) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Bumblebees and butterflies favor its purple flower spikes. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. In hot areas, give it a spot that is protected from afternoon sun.

Pairs well with New England aster, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Trumpet honeysuckle.
