Notes

Trumpet honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens) is a vine for borders, pollinator gardens, containers, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Red tubular flowers with yellow insides bloom in clusters, then give way to bright-red berries. Hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Eastern redbud, Blue wild indigo, and Big bluestem.
