Notes

Smallspike false nettle (Boehmeria cylindrica) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It lacks stinging hairs, so you can handle it with ease. Tiny greenish flowers form small, head-like clusters along spikes, and they attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Sensitive fern, Smooth hydrangea, and Dutchman's breeches.
