This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in spring, summer, and autumn. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the flowers, and it grows easily with little care.
Pairs well with Mexican petunia, Lemongrass, Vermillionaire cuphea, and Creme de Cognac dahlia.
