Notes

Sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum) is a tall grass for food gardens, pollinator gardens, and annual beds. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It reaches 5 to 8 feet tall and wide, and its white to gray blooms attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Lemon grass, Morning glory, and Artichoke.
