Notes
Texas sacahuista (Nolina texana) is a perennial for borders, specimen planting, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry soil of most types. The evergreen leaves form a thick clump and add texture in winter. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies visit its small white flowers.
Pairs well with Shenandoah switchgrass, Star of persia, and Elfin mother of thyme.
