Notes

Turk's head cactus (Echinocactus horizonthalonius) is a succulent for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It grows slowly into a stout, compact shape, and bright pink flowers form at the top in early summer. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Give the slow grower a spot where it can stay for years.

Pairs well with American century plant, Prickly-pear, and Aeonium.
