Notes

American century plant (Agave americana) is a succulent for specimens, accents, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The sharp leaf tips can hurt, so place it away from foot traffic. A tall bloom stalk appears when the plant matures at ten years or more.

Pairs well with Silver sage, Prairie dropseed, and Creeping thyme.
