Notes

Twinleaf (Jeffersonia diphylla) is a perennial for woodland gardens, shade gardens, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. The white, cup-shaped flowers open in spring and do not last long. The petals are fragile and often drop in wind or light rain. Afterward, the clump of two-lobed leaves forms a neat mound.

Pairs well with Red trillium, Elegans hosta, and Western sword fern.
